8. What is frame rate?

Frame rate is the frequency (rate) at which an imaging device produces unique consecutive images called frames. The term applies equally well to film and video cameras, computer graphics, and motion capture systems. Frame rate is most often expressed in frames per second (FPS) and is also expressed in progressive scan monitors as hertz (Hz).

Human eyes do not capture frames like a video device while brain processes a stream of information from the optic nerve. The only real, practical limitations on the eyes are tracking speed, focus speed and lighting conditions.

The 'best' frame rate for viewing something depends on the media and its characteristics. Normally, the media with 60 frame rate can be used in LED system and can be viewed smoothly by human eyes.

Broadcast Distance of LED System

Three kinds of cables are using in the LED system between LED controller and LED display Panel.

Cable Possible Broadcast Distance
Cat5e 100m
Single-mode fiber 20km
Multi-mode fiber 2-3km

The fiber broadcast distance may be variable depend on different fiber specs and different model of media fiber convertors.
